Curvy, coming to you in 8 days

Due to the growing demand for Curvy chairs in the UK, Casala has reduced the lead times for the Curvy chair for this market. Through the ‘Quality on Demand” programme the chairs will be delivered within 8 days, this is much shorter than the standard lead time of 6 weeks. The new lead times are in effect from 6 September 2010.

Due to the ‘Quality on Demand’ programme Curvy can be used in projects that do not only require quality, but fast lead times as well. The plastic backrests and seats are available in 10 different colours, the fully upholstered model is available in black.

Accessories like transport dollies, on which 45 chairs can be stacked, glides and writing tablets are also available through this programme.

About Curvy
In 2004 Curvy was added to the Casala product range. This successful chair has been awarded many international awards, like the NeoCon Chicago 2004. The variety in materials, matching accessories and models make Curvy a multi-functional chair programme. When fast lead times aren’t required, the Curvy programme offers even more options; chairs, barstools and bench seating in wood, plastic, upholstered or combinations thereof.

Due to its functionalities and design Curvy is a complete concept with unlimited possibilities. This and the excellent seating comfort make the Curvy chair suitable for application in large halls, cafeterias, waiting areas and as a visitors seat. Curvy has proved its worth in many projects over the world. Several universities and colleges have chosen to purchase Curvy, for example: Lancaster university. Also several of BBC’s locations are furnished with Curvy.

Casala is participating in the Clerkenwell Design week

Clerkenwell Design Week is a three-day annual festival celebrating design's creative richness, its social impact and its power for change.

It will have its own 'residency' at the Farmiloe Building on St John Street. This is where Casala displays its newest products. The elegant building, once the home of Victorian lead and glass merchants George Farmiloe and Sons Ltd, has retained its Dickensian charm, with much of the characteristic office and warehouse space still intact.

It will house our pop-up design exhibition, featuring displays and installations from an array of international interior design and architecture suppliers. Come along, take a sneak peek at the latest in cutting edge design - and be inspired.

Clerkenwell, the undisputed heart of design in London - itself acknowledged as design's global metropolis - is perfect for a design festival, where more than 60 design showrooms and a horde of design and architactural practises can be found amongst elegant greens and squares, historic architecture, cool pop-up clubs and shops, famous restaurants and funky bars.

The festival programme of seminars, workshops and debates tackles key issues from a design standpoint. Big design names and inspirational thought leaders will spearhead an event crammed with left-field thinking, off-the-wall performances and presentations to challenge all your preconceptions.

As well as exclusive UK product launches from leading design brands, there'll be everything you'd expect at a festival: street entertainment, music, food, exhibitions and parties... It's the ideal chance for creatives to network with clients in a relaxed yet intensively stimulating atmosphere.

It will excite, inspire, educate, inform and entertain.

Casala at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010

From the 9th until the 13th of February, Casala exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. This fifth year surpassed previous years, both in the size of the stand and the amount of visitors. With our collection and our stand, which was over 60m², we were able to amaze the Scandinavian audience.

Especially the Lynx programme, with its integrated linking system, got a lot of attention and some visitors even called it the innovation of this fair. In addition to the Lynx programme we also presented the Curvy, Cobra and Feniks programmes.

Exhibiting on this fair was very important to Casala, over the past few years we have received a lot of interest from Scandinavia. Because of this interest Casala decided to invest in this market. How? Exhibiting at the Stockholm Furniture Fair is one example. Also Casala has appointed Jeroen Katuin as International Sales Manager. He is responsible for expanding Casala’s share in the Scandinavian market.

These images give you an impression of our stand.

Lynx links further

Lynx, Casala’s hall chair with patented innovative linking system, is expanded with two new shell models. These new models are available from December 2009. The success of the first Lynx model lead to an expansion of the programme. Lynx is now available with three different shells, instead of one.

One system, three models

Prominent, elegant or slightly arched, these are the Lynx shell options. Emanating from these models are varieties with and without armrests, full upholstery, padded upholstery, synthetic or made of wood. Multiply this by the colour range of materials and fabrics, and a personalised chair appears, always in place.
All Lynx chairs are equipped with the patented linking system, the links are incorporated in the chairs. By only lifting the chair slightly, moving it somewhat to the left and placing it in the frame of another chair, the chairs are solidly linked. No additional handling or tools needed. Chairs and armchairs are also linkable with each other.

Genius in halls

Lynx meets the new EU standards, DIN EN 14703, for hall chairs. The chair is honoured for not only the stability of the linking system, but also for the time it saves. In less then an hour, one person is able to decorate a hall with 800 linked chairs.

Lynx, designed by Kommer Kors and Esquisse, was introduced two years ago. The chair was awarded the internationally acclaimed Red Dot Design Award in 2008. Shortly following the introduction Lynx developed into one of Casala’s best selling chairs. Many international projects are furnished with the Lynx chair, such as: Volkswagen, Shell, Corus, Messe Berlin and several courtrooms in Holland.

Onyx, the modern one

The Onyx programme is based on the shells of the Lynx chair. The expansion of shells applies also for the Onyx. Onyx is a modern chair for canteens and bars.

Sales-administration office UK

During the last 6 years the English and Irish market has been familiarized with Casala products. Previously Nomique Ltd was the exclusive importer for the UK and Ireland and distributed the Casala products via an extensive dealer network. In England, Casala obtained several prestigious projects like the Graduation Hall of Lancaster University and the furnishing of RIBA, the Royal Institute of British Architects.

To be able to serve the needs of the English market better Casala Limited has been founded. Casala Ltd is a sister company of the Dutch Casala Meubelen Nederland bv and the German Casala Objektmöbel GmbH. “In line with the potential of the English and Irish market there is the demand for it's own subsidiary. For this reason we decided to found a sales and administration office which is located nearby London” says René Wulterkens, Managing Director at Casala. Through our own subsidiary we can be of an even better service to our customers.

In agreement with Nomique, Casala has taken over the existing dealer network which consists of approximately 150 dealers. With this step Casala has taken an important step for the future growth of the brand.

As of June 15th Casala will be present in its new sales office in Cliddesden, South-West of London.

The opening of the new sales-administration office in Cliddesden fits into the strategic plans of Casala that is realizing a strong international growth since 2004. In 2007 Casala opened it's German sales office in Germany where the organization recently has been expanded. Last month Casala finalized an agreement in France with a strong partner that opens up a dealer network of more than 100 dealers.
