Casala Wins Interior Innovation Award 2013

Casala has won an Interior Innovation Award 2013 during IMM Cologne 2013. The award is given to Casala's latest innovation Monolink; the first plastic chair with a unique system that allows both linking and stacking.

The rapid build up and storage are attractive features of Monolink. In this way Casala can respond to the growing demand for more and more practical solutions for the furnishing of spaces. Monolink is a versatile chair that can be used in both the smallest canteen and the largest conference hall. Monolink is a design of Martin Ballendat, a well-known designer in the furniture industry, honored with over 100 design awards.

This year the Interior Innovation Award was organized for the 10th time. In 2002, the IMM Cologne fair started the Interior Innovation Award in cooperation with the German Design Council. Nowadays the Interior Innovation Award is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious design awards in the interior industry.

Plastic Design Classic

Monolink is the second plastic chair in Casala's collection. In the early 70s Casala brought the plastic chair Casalino on the market, awarded with " Die gute Industrieform". A true design classic and a typical icon of its time period. Casalino has made international furor and can be found in many locations from film sets to design exhibitions.

Introducing the Cito.

Casala is introducing new plastic colours for Carver, Cito, Cobra and Curvy. Not only are these chairs available in the new plastic colours; they are also available upholstered or in wood.

Casala's launch of the Cito has resulted in a chair which is suited for use in school canteens, company restaurants, churches and multi-purpose halls. This wooden chair has the Carver's plastic seat and backrest and an oak or beech base.

One can create stacks of up to 6 Cito chairs. This chair's backrest has a handle. The Cito's seat or seat and backrest also come upholstered. However, upholstered backrests do not have back handles.
